Although I am going to publish within the next two weeks a blog entry about Mexicos beauty and our way of being influenced by media article, violence, impunity, corruption and ineffectiveness are still forming parts of Mexicans daily life and I do not want to hide them from my blog.
THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE DOES NOT IMPLICATE ANY HIGH RISKS FOR TOURISTS OR PERSONS NOT INVOLVED IN THE DRUG TRAFFIC.
Last Monday night the president of the little village Huevetlan, a neighbouring village of the communities where I used to work, was murdered, supposedly because he had a debt with a narco gang.
On Tuesday at midday, the federal police arrived at the crossroad which one has to pass in order to go from there to Puebla. There they started “searching for the murder” with the method of controlling some of the passing cars. Ironically, they returned to their houses at around seven o’clock to install their control point the next morning again. And because, according to the persons in the community who shared this information with me, they were hungry and a BIMBO truck passed by (BIMBO is Mexico´s biggest bread company), they stopped the vehicle and took all its merchandise goods.
Although this little story seems funny, it is representative for the inefficient and not working state apparatus. Me dueles México!
